"Cottonwoods in Autumn"
8x8" oil - NFS - #1142
A small oil painting/sketch.
"Deep in the Heart of Texas"
18x24" oil - sold - #919
Washington County, Texas is the locale that inspired this interpretation. On occasion I change things in paintings, and you may have checked in and seen an earlier version of this painting with a barn in the middle distance. I think it's a better painting without the barn. (Another nice feature of oils, as a medium: the possibility of second thoughts.)

"Among Old Giants"
36x24" oil - available - #901
I painted the studies for this piece in the Prarie Creek Redwood State Park along the northern coastal region of California. The Redwood Coast is one of my favorite places on the planet, this being my second trip there with paint box and easel in tow. Along the path a lone figure stands in awe of nature's majestic beauty, and feels small.
"Twining Aspenglade"
8x10" oil - available - #1150
Painted within the Sangre de Cristo mountains of northern New Mexico.

"Soft Spring Morning"
20x30" oil - sold - #F1140
A new day dawns in north Texas. I seem to never tire (for very long) of painting the Texas bluebonnet flower (a native lupine, and the state flower) in various light and color conditions.
"Along the Way to Amarillo"
18x24" oil - available- #920
I have spent many a journey, from youth on, staring out into the open skies and spaces of the Texas Panhandle. This view in Deaf Smith County is a recalling of those clear Texas sundowns.

"Western Sky in Autumn
20x24" oil - available - #1126

"Crescent City Lighthouse"
(The Redwood Coast of California)
24X36" oil - available - #912
The northernmost Lighthouse in California, in dawn colors, mid-summer. The towering distant Redwoods in the mountains can be seen looking back to the east from here, opposite this Pacific view. Several large rivers that empty into the sea nearby provide a plentiful supply of driftwood, shown here. Future paintings will be forthcoming from studies made on this fascinating beach.

"Palo Duro Canyon at Sundown"
24x36" oil - sold - #1043
A fine expanse, as viewed from the rim, and a beloved place to me personally, having spent my younger years picnicking and hiking in it with family and friends, and later, setting up my easel in varied places.
"Taos Valley Poppies & Iris"
16x12" oil - available - #1113
